The Dune and Flowerbulb Region is a unique rural area with world-famous bulb fields, many kilometers of beach, healthy sea air, and an extensive dune area. Between the Dutch polders with their windmills and endless skies, you'll find the picturesque “Kagerplassen”. Discover the region by bike, wander through nature or go out by boat.
Characteristic historic cities like Leiden, Haarlem, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht are within easy reach.
Take a breath of fresh air and enjoy a long walk along the beach, or get on your bike for a trip through the vast polder landscape with those beautiful Dutch clouds. There is plenty for you to discover in the Dune and Flowerbulb Region!
Dahlia Time
In the Bulb Region, you can enjoy blooming flowers almost all year round. In early spring, the daffodils, hyacinths and tulips shine in their most beautiful colours. During the summer, the dahlias take over and create a beautiful spectacle. With a huge variety of colours, shapes and sizes, there is a favourite for everyone.
Whether you like pastel shades or bright colours, dahlias come in thousands of shapes and sizes, but each one is equally stunning and unique. Would you like to experience this for yourself? From mid-August until deep into autumn, you can visit show gardens, take part in fun workshops and activities, and even pick your own bouquet of dahlias!
Hiking map Bulb Region
"Visit Duin- en Bollenstreek" has released a new walking junction map for the Bulb Region hiking network. This beautiful new map includes a clear overview of all walking junctions in our versatile region plus 20 walking routes divided into the themes of Bollen en Bloemen (Bulbs and Flowers), Historical Heritage, Forest, Beach and Dunes and Polders and Lakes.
The map costs €5 and is on sale at:
