Always wanted to see how a float is made? Construction takes place over three days in a local hall where you can see hundreds of volunteers decorating the floats with fragrant, colourful, spring bulb flowers including hyacinths, daffodils and tulips.

The flowers are pinned to the floats via a special technique called 'staking'. If you are lucky you may get the opportunity to try for yourself. How exciting to actually see your own handiwork passing by on the parade.

Entertainment and Dutch delights

Enjoy the fun behind the scenes! Refreshments are served while you enjoy the various events including the famous ''First Stake"' by local dignitaries and the live stage with various musical acts. You may even be interviewed on radio or television! Stalls with traditional Dutch delicacies complete the experience.
