Leiden loves history, and its residents are proud of their city's past. It's a long-standing tradition that many Leiden residents visit Museum De Lakenhal on October 3rd to see the tangible reminders of Leiden's Siege and Relief.
Amidst all the festivities in the city, come and admire masterpieces like The Self-Sacrifice of Mayor Van der Werff by Matthijs van Bree, the contemporary interpretation by Erwin Olaf, the stew cauldron, the pigeon letters, the emergency coins, and the Lanckaert tapestry.
