Discover the country estates between Noordwijkerhout and Noordwijk and imagine yourself in the days when wealthy ladies and gentlemen strolled around here. The first estates were built here in the 16th century by wealthy merchants and regents. Some of the country houses and parks still show signs of the splendour of the past. Many of these country houses with surrounding parks have made place for bulb fields or buildings. Fortunately, there is still much beauty to be seen. Most of the country houses are now privately owned, which makes a visit impossible.
