Dairy farm Pennings is located in the polder landscape between Leiden and the Haarlemmermeer and lies directly on the Kager lakes. The farm was established around 1930 and consists of over 33 hectares of grassland, 55 dairy cows, 30 young cattle and a number of sheep and goats.

From the very beginning cheese is being made and sold on the farm. Sales soon went well, and in addition to butter, cheese and eggs, the range was extended with all kinds of traditional products. For water sports enthusiasts, a trip to the Hellegatspolder is highly recommended. From the dairy farm you can step right onto the Kaag for a day of fun on the water. You can hire canoes and kayaks from us. There are a number of beautiful routes of various distances. And you can choose from different canoes and kayaks, also with child seat, for 1, 2 or 3 persons. Unique are the canoes which are big enough for no less than 10 people.

Before the trip, you can fill your picnic basket in our farm shop with a bottle of wine, farm cheese and fresh nuts, among other things. After the trip, you can end the day with a high tea or barbecue in the Green Country House. Ideal for an outing with family, friends or colleagues.
