The 'Monument voor de Gevallenen' in Lisse was erected in memory of all fellow citizens who died during the years of occupation as a result of acts of war.

The 'Monument to the Fallen' in Lisse is a bronze sculpture of a standing, naked male figure holding his arms in a repelling pose above his head. The statue is placed on a natural stone pedestal. The sculpture is 1 metre 90 high, 77 centimetres wide and 73 centimetres deep. In front of the sculpture, a black memorial stone is placed on a sloping pedestal.

Symbolism:
The monument symbolises the resurrection and the transition from sadness to joy. After years of oppression and misery the Netherlands regains its freedom and sovereignty. The statue also symbolises the living awareness of an ongoing struggle. In order to maintain democracy, vigilance is required.
Modification:
The memorial stone was added to the monument in 2002.

The monument is placed at the corner Oranjelaan/Heereweg in Lisse.
